Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Urumqi
Arrive in Urumqi and use the transfer and check-in day as a flexible start. Your travel team confirms the pickup timing and the latest route conditions before the overland section begins.
Day 2: Urumqi to Sayram Lake
Head west toward Sayram Lake. The road day is paced around the confirmed hotel and safe stops, with time to appreciate the high-altitude lake rather than treating it as a short roadside photo stop.
Day 3: Sayram Lake to Yining
Follow the operating lake route, then continue through the Ili Valley to Yining. A Yining neighbourhood walk may be included when arrival timing allows; seasonal flowers are an optional extra, not a guaranteed inclusion.
Day 4: Yining to Kalajun Grassland and Tekes
Travel to the Tekes and Kalajun area. The exact scenic loop, shuttle and walking sections are selected from the routes open on the day, leaving enough time to experience the rolling grassland rather than merely passing through it.
Day 5: Tekes to Kurdining and Nalati
Continue into Kurdining’s spruce and stream landscape before moving on to the Nalati area. This is not sold as a self-drive itinerary: entry transport and tickets are confirmed for the group’s actual documents and travel date.
Day 6: Nalati to Tangbula
Explore the operating Nalati scenic areas, then continue toward Tangbula if the road and accommodation plan support it. Optional horse riding and local activities are left to the traveler’s choice and are not part of the core itinerary.
Day 7: Tangbula and return toward Urumqi
Take the open Tangbula-Duku road corridor when conditions permit. When it does not, the group follows the agreed alternative route; the route change is an operational substitution, not a cancellation of the whole tour.
Day 8: Depart Urumqi
Transfer for the confirmed flight or train. Keep the final morning clear of sightseeing so departure timing remains reliable.
